I recently got the movie Stand By Me from Netflix and the book Different Seasons with the story The Body, (which Stand By Me is based off of) so my question is, which to start with? Book before movie or movie before book? Will one ruin the other or not? |

Well I've never read The Body, have seen Stand By Me though. I my opinion its always better to read the book first, then watch the movie. You can visualize the characters and setting in your mind how you see them. If you watch the movie first, their already in your brain. Does this make any sense to anyone but me ? LOL |

One won't ruin the other, but I'm of the read the book first mind, too. The Stand is one of the best movie adaptations of a Stephen King story, imho. |

Definately read the book first!! You see things the way you read them. If you watch the movie first, you see things the way Hollywood does!! JMO. I thought it was a great movie (book was better, of course), I have it on my keeper shelf. Christa:) |

I read Different Seasons first and it didn't ruin the movie for me. In my opinion, this was one of those very rare cases when the movie is just as good as the story. The cast was excellent. The same thing goes for Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption which is also in there. Last Edited on: 6/9/09 9:33 AM ET - Total times edited: 1 |
