I think The Stand-In is Moggach's finest book yet. It's simply enthralling and pulls you in as you wonder what she will do. You know she is wrong, you realize she has problems, but you can't help but find yourself sympathizing with her in spite of this. It's about jealousy and we all know how that can twist your mind up...well, she goes with it. The very end is unexpected and fabulous! It wraps it all up and leaves you thinking....wow.

Jules is an unknown English actress, content with her precarious career and with Trevor, her irresistible boyfriend. Then she gets the break of a lifetime - a stand-in part for Lila Dune, American sex symbol and movie star...

'Tainted love, jealousy and brilliant revenge - this book has got the lot' (New Woman)

'Well written, tense and compulsively readable ... her book is a triumph' (Sunday Express)
