The simple guy-meets-guy plot has a much better story than the usual Yaoi. The faces are really expressive and I like the more adult build of the characters, and Hirokawa's trace of beard. Hirokawa ACTS like a man, with warmth and strength instead of grabbing. He is nurturing, generous instead of needy, vulnerable. He does not "set out to seduce" Sudou but becomes a friend to him but does fall for him in the process. Sudou has certain issues, but he has a life, and it is his positive side that attracts Hirokawa's interest. Sudou's past traumas are human-sized, the ordinary life experiences which do cause lasting hurt in real people.
The translation is at times not the best and reading it the second time you can figure out what should have been said instead of what is in print. But aside from that I think it's a good read.
