First, be forewarned that this is not a price guide, nor is it a useful reference work. That said....
Wow, what an awful book. Rather the "Star Spangled Jewelry", it could have been called, "Photos from the Collections of Sandra Whitson and Barbara Trujillo" subtitled With Limited Information and details.
Most chapters are introduced with a scant paragraph, or perhaps two. For example,
"Many Americans especially love animals, so it is (sic)that animals and patriotism are often combined. Many different animals have been included in red, white and blue jewelry, from cats and bears to turtles and butterflies. Of course, American artist Walt Disney's beloved Mickey Mouse is among the menagerie."
leads one to the "Wildlife" section. There seem to be more acknowledgements (a fine thing) than information (less admirable.)
I am certainly glad that I did not pay the original list price of $29.95. The only redeeming feature of the book is the number of high quality color photos.
