This is one of those stories that makes you smile at the end. It is difficult to write a character who is naive and innocent w/o the reader getting really, REALLY annoyed at how stupid she is, but you don't have that in this book. She isn't irritating or whiny and he isn't condescending towards her.

It is just a simple, sweet story.

Innocent and childlike Raine was nothing but a bedraggled waif when Lance Randall rescued her from a San Francisco saloon full of brawling miners.
Singleminged in the pursuit of his business, ruthless in the pursuit of his enemies, outrageously successful in the pursuit of his women, Lance could have had any wife he wanted but one look in Raine's hauntingly familiar face told him he must have the mysterious orphan for his own.
