Wein's CODE NAME VERITY is one of my all time favorite books (if you haven't read it, you should!). I was excited to see she had a new book out and it's a murder mystery! The protagonist, Stella North is representing Britain as the only female pilot in a race to promote peace in Europe in 1937. Tensions are building between countries. Stella is a wonderful character to root for! I had some trouble keeping up with the multiple characters in the beginning (although they are listed with the countries they are representing for easy reference at the front). This is a book that gets better as it goes and I was speeding through pages toward the end. It's not as good as CODE NAME VERITY but it is compelling and exciting and beautiful in it's own way.
