The characters in the book are 12, and I'm 27 ... so my review may be colored by this. I thought this was a good, easy read for age 12 and below. The book was refreshing in that there were no sexual situations, no overt gore, no curse words, etc. Sometimes when I read from the YA section, I wonder how the books ever made it there considering the amount of horrific violence and sex. But, this one wasn't like that. An honest to goodness adventure book. Something that an 8 year old could read, as well as a 12 year old.

I suppose my only contention is that I thought it was overly simplistic. However, I am 27 ... so, probably, any book for 12 year olds would seem that way to me!
