And so it was that land became available in Baldwin County, Alabama. There was interest in some Northerners to move to a warmer climate.
Eli Beachy, who moved from Holmes County to Geauga County, Ohio took an active interest in this southern land. In August of 1906 he and several others took a trip to investigate this land. Beachy and several others bought farms on their first trip. By December the Beachy family had a railroad boxcar laoded and moved to Bay Minette, AL.« less
