This forum has been kinda dead the last couple days, so I figured I'd start a new post lol!

Where is the strangest/most uncommon place that the couple has had sex in a Historical?

I just read one where they went at it in a treehouse :)

Well in Stephanie Laurens world I believe someone did it on a swing in the observatory or orangery(I can't remember and I don't have all her books anymore) so someone correct me if I am wrong.

Yep, IIRC one of Laura Kinsale's had 'em on horseback.

Now once in a contemp. the h/h did it on back of a motorcycle. Going down the freeway no less. It was an eyeroller, for sure.

Not sure if I'm remembering correctly, but I think the couple in The Vampire Who Loved Me were locked in a crypt.

BTW, this thread reminds me of a (perhaps apocryphal) story about the original version of  "Newleywed Game" - the host asked "what's the strangest place you've ever had sex" and the answer was "that would be up the butt."

Cherry Adair had one where they were on a camel and the camel was taking an interest in their activities.

Never mind.  Not a historical.

LOL that's Hilarious Willa!!

I don't think the horse would be very comfortable and the crypt is just plain creepy!! :)

Did they ask where was the strangest place you ever "made whoopee"?  That made me roll my eyes even when I was a kid:P

I was going to mention the ship's rigging.  (I think it was the crow's nest) but Kim beat me to it!

No, it's not the crow's nest.  Just up in the rigging, I think on one of the mast/pole thingies, and if I knew diddly-squat about ships & sailing I could be more specific:P  He's sort of balanced on a beam and she's straddling him, and they let the rolling motion of the ship do a lot of the work.  Great scene, btw.  Strange places can be cool, but they can also be clunkers if they aren't written well and are hard to get a mental picture of.  MC does a bang up job with this in most of her books, and she did this scene very well too.  It's one of my personal favs.
