I don't read a lot of romance, but I enjoyed this contemporary lesbian romance (my first) because the characters and plot were believable.

Maggie grew up on a successful California strawberry farm and is very close to her family. One day, a new girl sweeps into her high school classroom; Courtney is beautiful and heir to the Carrington department store business.

Sparks fly between Maggie and Courtney, but family expectations, career aspirations, and other factors complicate their on-again-off-again relationship over many years. Being a romance, it has a satisfying HEA ending. I plan to read other romances written by Melissa Brayden to spice up my usual reading routine.
