I loved this book. I have liked all of them in the series.
The writing in this series just gets better and better. Kat gets herself into situations you wouldn't think she'll get out of this time, but she does. Kat has more than nine lives...
Kijewski is a very entertaining writer.
I've loved every one of her books.
This series is intelligently written with flashes of humor throughout the attention-holding mystery.
This mystery novel will keep you guessing to the end.
From back of book:
Quintessential female P.I." Kat Colorado returns in the newest novel from award-winning author Karen Kijewski...Kat is still reeling from the loss of her beloved Hank. But when Sara Bernard insists that her husband is trying to kill her -- a claim seemingly backed up by the murder of her best friend -- Kat finally agrees to investigate. The problem is not only that Jed Bernard, a police officer, has a clean record and glowing testimonials from everyone in town. It's also that the erratic, elusive Sara Bernard sometimes seems more dangerous than the man she's trying to avoid. And when Kat finds herself going undercover at a stylish rehab clinic, it seems that there's far more to this case than a marriage gone bad.......
I've enjoyed other Karen Kijewski/Kat novels. But this one.... oy. Even though I was trapped on an airplane with few other options, it was so insipid, I couldn't finish it. I can understand why other reviewers enjoyed it; but to me the characters seemed card-boardy and two-dimensional, and the plot contrived.
