It is also recommended to ignore approaching cars, which are hurling towards you in breathtaking speed, while you are sitting in a small vulnerable rickshaw...and it is best to completely forget that your driver has never had anything similar to a driving lesson and is probably way into his second whisky bottle. Everything is permitted, as long as you are following the golden rules and these are accompanied by non-stop honking. Transportation is a major part of Indian life, roads are always full and you see crowds of people-the more the merrier-sitting, clinging, standing and climbing around in trucks and on buses, a whole family fits onto one motorcycle...and nobody gives a damn about safety!
