Street of Shadows - Star Wars : Coruscant Nights, Bk 2 Author:Michael Reaves With the Jedi all but wiped out in the grim aftermath of Order 66, the Empire's power seems unchecked. Finding Volette's killer won't be easy--too many secrets, too many suspects, and all kinds of motives. But with the droid I-5YQ's help, and ex-reporter Den Dhur's excellent snooping skills, the investigation is soon operating like a well-oiled machine.
Unfortunately, there's a far more efficient machine hunting Jax. It's a deadly game of cat-and-mouse as the clock starts ticking toward the final explosive showdown...to see who strikes first and who will die first.« less
Better, imo, than "Jedi Twilight". Jax has worked his angst out and is now a functioning adult, enough that you don't want to throttle him anyway.
This seemed more in a Murder/Mystery vein than anything. Not so interesting. Vader hires a jedi-killer to go after Jax, that was ok.
There was a sidestory about Cpt Typho, some guard in charge of Amidala, and how he is out for vengeance, apparently because "he was SO in love with her". While Reaves wove the sidestory into the main thread, it really detracted from the over all story. Weakened it considerably.
For me, this was a good read, from the library. Won't ever buy it.
