This book is copyrighted 1953, and I think some of the drawings were originally published in the New York Sun. An interesting glimpse into what the streets of New York were like when it was a pastoral city inhabited by the Dutch. It gives you short verbal glimpses of individual streets: Broadway, Barclay, Third Ave. & Sixty-Fifth Street are just a few. Each entry is accompanied by a drawing of what the street may have looked like. The drawings are not as detailed as an architectural item, although I think they do often include past and current landmarks.
