I am awaiting delivery of a book that is apparently stuck in the distribution center near my home.  The DC has been rescanned by this same center 4 times in the last 7 days.  Anyone with clues? Answers?

No clues or answers here. I would love to have an answer to this mystery too. I've had books spend days in Allen Park, MI, cycling again and again through their system before finally breaking free.

I think this might happen if they thought their was room on a truck so it could be sent on its way but then more important mail comes in and the package never leaves.. I just had a book vacation in Salinas for  5 days before getting sent to the right place. It was scanned acouple of times while waiting.

Pam, I can understand that reasoning, but it's weird that I've received 7 other (more recently mailed) books in the time I've been waiting for this one to leave the distribution center!! grrrrr

I would show your local PO the list of scans. I have seen this happen before but have not found a good answer yet. I think the machinery that sorts the mail scans it automatically. I am going to have to ask and find out how the sort system works at the bulk mail centers.

Someone else had this same problem recently. She called, I believe, and the poor trapped book went out the next day.

I always have visions of this big warehouse full of pallets of media mail and they keep opening the door and grabbing the front stuff while a little lonely book sits in the back waiting patiently.
