"Suddenly" is a very sweet story about 4 pediatricians that have put all of their time and efforts into being doctors and suddenly realize life is passing them by. Each has his own story intertwined into each others. I would not call it a page turner but I did have a hard time putting it down. When Mara, the most agressive and outspoken does not show up to take her shift and is found in her car dead, it is ruled a suicide. That evening as one of her partners, Paige is at her house trying to figure things out, a social worker show up with the 14 month old Indian child Mara was adopting. Paige offers to keep the baby girl while an alternative placement is being found and the story progesses from there.
