I hated this book. The author left me hanging at the end. My husband read it as soon as I finished, and he got upset after reading it also. I do not suggest anyone reading this book if you want to know what happens at the end of a story, you are left knowing as much as you did when you first picked up the book.

This was a fantastic, well-written book. I couldn't quit thinking about it after I read it. Even though, as some reviewers have stated, it does leave things somewhat unresolved, it stills tells a terrific horror story. Then ending is just a classic Saul ending.

ONE HUNDRED YEARS AGO IN PORT ARBELLO
a pretty little girl began to scream
And struggle. And die.
No one heard. No one saw.
Just one man whose guilty heart
burst in pain as he dashed himself
to death in the sea.

Now something peculiar is happening
in Port Arbello. The children are
disappearing, one by one. An evil history
is repeating itself. And one strange,
terrified child has ended her silence with
a scream that began a hundred years ago.

SUFFER THE CHILDREN
a novel of unnatural passion
and supernatural terror.
