I don't know if I am suppose to be posting this here, but anyway....I need advice on some good vampire (fiction) novels.  I would really like ones set in the US, I am reading one now set in Europe and it isn't bad but I am not into all the lords, ect...

I read one of the books in the Southern Vampire series and it just didn't pull me too much.  I have also read the Circle Triology by Nora Roberts.

Thanks for any suggestions

Danielle - I'm not much for vampires, but I did read a series many years ago, that I enjoyed.  There were three books by Les Daniels (The Black Castle, The Silver Skull, and Citizen Vampire - I also see that they were issued as an anthology:  The Don Sebastian Vampire Chronicles)

What I remember most is that Don Sebastian was described as "the vampire who was horrified by man" ...

I don't even know if they are still available.  I had one on my shelf, but it's gone ....

You might try ...

Lynsay Sands

Maryjanice Davidson (also good werewolf series)

Sherrilyn Kenyon

Katie MacAlister (yes her books don't take place in the US, but they are very good)

Minda Webber

Rosemary Laurey

Lynn Erickson's Out of the Darkness

Lara Adrian

JR Ward

Hope this helps.

J. R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood series is currently my favorite.  The books are:

  1. Dark Lover
  2. Lover Eternal
  3. Lover Awakened
  4. Lover Revealed
  5. Lover Unbound

You will probably have to put them on your wish list.  They're very popular.

When I read the 1st of the Southern Vampire series, I wasn't that impressed either.  It was a long time before I read the 2nd one and it was much better - give them a chance, many more interesting vampires than Bill come along.

Diana - Bill, not interesting?!?!? Hurumph!!!! lol I LOVE Bill!

Seriously, the series is a good one but then I was hooked from the first book.

Gerry Bartlett writes a cute series too. Only two so far but they're good. Same with Michelle Beardsley - only two so far but those were THE best!
