In another book swap site I got hit by what I considered a hidden charge.  So I am looking for an exact and inclussive summary of all charges made by this site.  I have not found one in the help section but want to hun t this down to avoid getting burned again.  As I recall is was about 50c to bring money in from paypal and about the same to print a postage label.  Is that it?

These are the fees:

43 cents if you use the postage printing

27 cents if you only print delivery confirmation (no postage)

50 cents every time you put money in your account to buy printable postage and/or DC

You will see these fees on the screen whenever you purchase one of the above services, so you will not be surprised.  Also, the "money registry" on "my account" page will tell you the fees you have paid for.

To clarify the printable postage charge (from the Help Center):

How much does it cost?

  • The Printable Postage fee is 43 cents.
    • PBS gets 27 cents of this
    • Endicia, our printable postage provider, gets 16 cents.
  • The fee to USPS is 18 cents (for the electronic DC).
    • Delivery Confirmation is required by USPS for all printable postage, so the option to print postage without DC is not available.

And to clarify the 50 cent charge, it is for any kiosk transaction which includes transfering $ in and buying credits from PBS and other items.

eta: you can trade completely fee free here if you wanted to. If you do not buy printable postage or DC, but just pay for postage at the PO, then you can avoid those charges. Just get credits by sending books and you won't have to pay the fee to buy credits. If you do none of that, then you have no need to transfer $ to PBS so no fee there either. Don't subscribe to extras like Box o Books and Journaling and you avoid those fees. I don't think they have a summary of fees anywhere because there are no fees that you would HAVE to pay to use the site. If you go into any area that has fees they are shown before the purchase is ever completed.
