I have to share what I found when I was looking for my stash of postcards: A postcard of the Treadway Motor Inn in Sturbridge Village, MA, which I picked up free at the motel when we stayed there on our honeymoon in 1970. My husband laughed when I showed it to him. (I keep him around because he lets me hang onto things like this.)

If anyone has any extra state postcards Stacy Y. (stacyjoyy) just recently posted in the standard member forum asking for cards for a special education class.
"A special education teacher at my school is trying to collect postcards from each state. Her class is beyond excited each day as the mail comes in. Allo she asks is that you mail a postacrd from your state with a few facts about your state on the back. Please say you saw the link here, as she is trying to guage how people connected to her class's project. There are only 2 1/2 weeks of school left, so the rush is on! Hi everyone :) I am sorry it has taken a while for me to get this done. I have just spent lol way too much time trying to figure out best match's first on a map (so like VA did not send to WV) and then finally drawing names and then as needed changing around to have some distance between states. I did my best and pray you have fun with this. I will PM everyone their match's info right now. As an FYI, we do have 19, Michelle S, kindly offered to send to, two people which is why I put her with me and Amy. So she does not need to send to me and Amy. Amy can send to whoever of us she wants, of course :) I will send to both. Sent post cards to most everyone! This was a lot of fun! It forced me to go to our local Historical Society to pick up some great post cards of our area! Been a blast! BTW It had been since 1999 since I was in the Historical Society office. Im Agoraphobic so this was a huge milestone for me, getting out and going there. This forum did more than you guys could ever know! A healing? Perhaps! |

Received a lovely postcard of Summersville Lake, West Virginia, from Vicky today. Reminds me of swimming and boating in the lakes of upstate New York when I was young. Summersville looks like a great place to visit! |
