I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this! I liked the firebird aspect (something that isn't done that often at all). The only "confusing" issue for me was the types/brands of guitars, you mean a guitar isn't just a guitar?! I didn't think this didn't took away from the story.
This is pretty much a book of fluff... Pretty fun fluff, but fluff none the less.
There's little to no angst, and what angst there is, is resolved quickly (like within a few pages). We, as the reader are also told more, rather then made to feel it.
Though both the best and the worst part of the overall story is it's potential. If you're a fan of paranormal romance you'll love the idea behind the story as well as the world LC created! I mean, seriously, how often do we get to see Rock Star shape shifters!
Unfortunately the world isn't that heavily delved into... It's like we get glimpses, but we're on the outercuffs looking in, desperate to see more, know more, but limited to the little Ms Connolly deems nesscessary for her story.
But it's a cute, easy story: Quite a bit of (well written) sex, usually likable main characters, and a few minor characters who's stories I'll enjoy reading.
Another postive note, if you're as obsessive about your music as I am, you'll love her concert descriptions... LC manages to capture the energy and the anticipation of seeing a well loved artist live and reminded me of the last concert I went to (and the fact that it's been far too long since I've been to a show!)
