I think I'll go with the Steelers also - although I'd like to see the win go to the Cardinals. I just heard that they have never won a Superbowl & it's nice to see someone different get that trophy and rings. |

I'm going to wait until closer to the game to get injury reports for the teams before I make my pick. :-) |

I'm gonna go with the Cardinals. I don't really have a rooting interest for either team, I just think the Cardinals are on a bit of a roll... and it'd be a GREAT story if they win! In any event, I just hope it's a fun, close game no matter which team wins. :-) |

Well, this was certainly one Super Bowl that either team could have won! What an exciting game and exciting finish! I had picked the Steelers to win, but I found myself cheering on the Cardinals as well. :) Yesterday in the Sunday Sports section, the first article about the game opined that it would very likely be a "yawner" of a game. Good grief! They hadn't even played the thing yet! It bugs me that people get so negative about something so quickly. Of course today they are eating their words, calling it one of the most exciting games played in years. Well at least one year - Giants beating Patriots last year was pretty exciting, too. Unfortunately, I came out on the wrong end of that one. :( It was nice though, not to feel the pressure of rooting for the home team, I could just enjoy the game, not have to "coach from my couch" or yelling at the refs. On to baseball season ~ only 9 more days before pitchers and catchers report to Spring training. I don't think Manny has a contract with any team yet.......... Well I picked the Steelers but as I said before, I usually root for the underdogs - especially if I don't have a favorite. But As the game wore on - I found myself rooting more & more for the Cards - must be that football fever or something. Even my son said Mom, you know these aren't the Giants don't you? lol. Still a great ending - but I'm actually glad I'm not a true Cardinal fan - I might have been a little miffed by some of the calls & penalties. Not to take anything away from the Steelers but after Warmer's last pass, I expected some sort of review. I'm not a ref, but I thought it could have been ruled an incomplete pass - because the ball did go forward. The following Steeler penalty would have moved the Cards even further down the field (to 35 yard line?) and who knows what could have happened. Maybe they would have still lost, but the wondering must be killing Cardinal fans. Oh well, I'm just glad it was a great game and not a yawner. Now comes the long wait until the next season. |
