In my opinion, if you ever start reading one of O'Brian's Aubrey/Maturin books, you won't stop till you have read the whole series. Most of the books in the series can be read stand alone, but to really enjoy the trip, I would suggest starting at the beginning MASTER AND COMMANDER!
