This book is a delightfully written story of a niece who tries to take care of her beloved Aunt Ruth who suffered a stroke. Joyce's memories of Aunt Ruth are wonderful ones of a funny, loving old woman who was like a best friend. After the stroke Aunt Ruth has a personality change that leaves her with the personna of a gatling gun. She becomes mean spirited and hurts Joyce's feelings at every turn. On the other hand, Joyce has the patience of a saint and puts up with all the sniping, even through tears. There were moments of laugh out loud, tears and anger as I read this book but I am so glad I did. I certainly learned a lesson about tolerance. It is an easy read and truly well worth the time.

This is a enjoyable read about a niece's attempts to take care of her cantankerous elderly aunt. Delightful, heartwarming and heartbreaking all at the same time. Anyone who has ever been involved in the care of an aging relative will relate to this book. Picked this book up on a whim and am so glad I did -- the moment I began it, I could not wait to turn the page!
