A gem of a highland romance. With grace and affinity like few others, the author evokes the people and land of Scotland!
As proud as the Scottish hills, Juliana Lindsey possesses a delicate beauty and a noble spirit. She'll stop at nothing to see her beloved country free, even if it means trusting a man whose motives are as secretive as they are impassioned...
Gawain Avenel, a knight sworn to the English crown, has vowed never to reveal his true heritage. But the fever in his Scottish blood has driven him to a woman who has risked her life to teach him the true meaning of the word "honor"...
Torn between opposing loyalties, bound by an impossible passion, Juliana and Gawain must now face the ultimate test of devotion in the most courageous battle of allthe battle for the human heart.
2nd in the Maiden series.
This is the first and, in my opinion, best of the Maiden trilogy. How can you not enjoy a brave heroine who shoots like a boy, along with a friar for an uncle, building siege towers right under the nose of the English?
I loved this book and can't wait to read the others in the series!
