Hi, I have a book that was on my wish list that recently came in.  The swapper hasn't responded to sending the book. He/she has until tomorrow to respond.  I don't know why they wouldn't respond since the book was requested immediatly after it was post being a wishlist book.

Anyway if they do not respond what happens? Do I go back to being first in line for the book or do I get bumped to the bottom and wait forever again or do I just get removed period and have to put myself back on?

Is there anything I can or should do before the deadline?

Thanks for any help! :)

If they don't mark it mailed by the deadline, you will go back to the same place in line that you were in when the book was posted to you. There is nothing you need to do at this point.

I hope they mail it for you!

There's nothing you can do.  If they don't respond then you will go back to 1st in line. It happens. Sometimes people join, post a bunch of books and then don't follow through.

Sometimes people post books and then someone close dies, bad weather causes a power outage, they end up in the hospital-basically life gets in the way.

Also they could be waiting for hte last minute to accept to get more mailing time.  Maybe they have another WL book that they posted at the same time that's been going unaccepted. So they are not accepting your so they can mail them both together.  I go to the post office and I will do that sometimes if I have multiple WL books on hold for people.  I might hold off on accepting the ones picked up right away until the one that's cycling through non-responders to be accepted.  Then I can take them all at once.

Maybe they just need a couple more days to get them to payday.

Thank you both! I will wait and see what happens. I am glad to hear I keep my place!

Duh, yes, I forgot life does get in the way sometimes. Thanks

Krista, I know what you mean. I am in the same position as you waiting on a wishlist book that was offered. Have been waiting for the member for a couple of days. I'm trying to be patient. This has happened to me before and I went back to being 1st in line. I eventually did get the book from another member and it didn't take long.  Good luck!

The correct thing is you "go back to your previous position in line"  you may not have actually been #1, you may have gotten the offer because someone ahead of you and RC's or folks took their WL off hold...so, there is a slight possibility that you will not actually go back to #1.
