Is it acceptable to post magazines? I have some magazines that I don't want anymore. Was wondering if I could post them here.

Magazines are not allowed to be posted. From the Help Documents:

Not allowed:

  • Anything that is not a book (this includes calendars, coloring books, blank journals)
  •  Anything that contains advertising (such as single-issue comic books or comic book digests or magazines)

Our local library will take unwanted magazines and sell them as a way to raise a bit of money. Maybe your local library has a similar program. Or some senior centers/residences might take magazines.

Magazines cannot be posted into the system. However, the site does recognize the increased desire to trade these and the good it does to get as many uses out of them as possible before they hit the recycle bin so they are now allowing them to be swapped UNOFFICIALLY for credits in the Book Bazaar, they longer need to be only offered as freebies.

The stipulation to offer them is that it is an unofficial transaction so they cannot be posted into the system under any circumstances, the credits need to be transferred via the Give Credits button and the address PMed. Also, magazines do not qualify to be sent Media Mail so senders need to send them using the proper class of mail understanding that it is going to cost them more to earn each credit.
