Has anyone ever seen this movie? I just got done watching it, and it really touched me. I think if you could take your favorite historical romance and turn it into a movie, this is what it would be. It was a beautiful story, and I just wanted to take the moment to recommend it.

It was about a German mail-order bride type situation, during WWI. She wasn't accepted by the community, making it impossible for h/h to marry. Can't tell too much more without giving anything away!

I loved the movie as well.  However, when I went to read the book, it didn't hold my interest.

What I found most compelling about the characters was the fact that Olaf never turned his back on Inge.  Even though the town basically turned thier backs to them, making thier lives on the farm that much harder.  It made me wonder, would that still happen today?  Too many of us would rather follow the crowd than stand up for what's right.

My favorite scene is when she sneaks over to his place to take a bath.  Can you blame her????  I wouldn't want to disrobe in Frandsen's house either!!!

Seriously, If you haven't seen this film, it is soooo worth the 2 hours to view it!

I got it from netflix because it was recommended to me. I'm very good about rating every movie I watch....so when I can't think of a movie I want to get, I just pick one that netflix recommends to me and I almost always love them!

Our library has this movie, so I'm going to try and head over there today and pick it up.  It sounds great.  Thanks for the recommendation.
