Logan Langley knows that when his upcoming thirteenth birthday arrives, he will have to get the mark. All of the kids in school are excited about it - it gives more freedom and grants citizenship. But Logan doesn't want it. His sister went to get the mark and she never came back.

Since she disappeared he has become paranoid. He feels someone is always watching him, but tries to act natural so his family and friends don't think he is psycho. But when he finds a fishing wire and tin can in a nearby tree, straight to his bedroom window, he knows he isn't crazy.

When new girl Erin arrives in the small town of Spokie, Logan strikes up a conversation with her. They become friends, but Erin has her own agenda. She wants to get her parents back together, and find out what her father really does for the government. Between the two of them, they begin their own investigation and soon are in over their heads and running for their lives. Mark or no mark.

Swipe is a dystopian page-turning thriller for all ages. The world-building is unique and complex, filled with wonderful, fully developed characters that have their own agendas. The mystery of Logan's sister who disappeared and what Erin's father does for the government could be connected, and then again, they may not. But it's the adventure in finding the truth that overlaps everything and kept this reader riveted from cover to cover.
