I would give it 3 stars. The family begins a new life after a shipwreck that leaves them stranded on an unknown island.

Finally at the age of 67 I read this book. And oh what a joy it is! Most people are probably familiar with Disney's movie take of this book but the book itself is so much better. This book was a great relief from the cookie-cutter novels that seem to be published almost weekly by some authors. The use of the English language is beyond eloquent. I actually had to look up some terms he uses in the dictionary because they have fallen out of everyday use. That was one of the things I found enjoyable. And the dialog between characters was superb! I would highly recommend that if yu haven't read this book that you don't wait any longer and dive into one of the classics, you'll be glad you did.
