Charming historical romance based on the twin trading places idea, but with more twists and humor than usually found in such stories. Sands manages to offer some surprises along the way. This is an engrossing narrative very likely to keep you with book in hand until the last happy page. All in all, a delightful read.

Loved it! Great, different idea for a story. Good for some laughs and I enjoyed the romance as well.

Although the back cover sounds a little cheesy- this book was actually fun to read.

The most humorous romance book I've read!, August 12, 2002

This book is magnificent! I couldn't stop laughing while reading it, much to my husband's regret who was desperately trying to sleep and the fact that I kept re-reading the funny passages again and again didn't help at all! The way poor Radcliffe finds himself attracted to a young boy "Charles" and starts to wonder for his sexual preferences is incredibly hilarious.
In a few words, the story goes as follows: The earl of Radcliff meets a yound couple, a brother named "Charles" and his sister "Beth" trying to escape from their uncle. Much to their dismay (!), he offers to escort them to London, settle them in his house and introduce them to the ton as his relatives so that Beth can find a husband to escape from her uncle's plans. Although Beth is a very attractive woman, he finds himself attracted to her brother, Charlie! Radcliff is shocked by his response, but when he finally admits to himself that he is indeed attracted to "him", he finds out that he is also attracted to Beth... only at certain times! Little does he know that the brother and sister are in fact twin sisters and keep switching places as Charlie and Beth. As if this is not enough, a blackmailer appears that threatens to reveal the twins' secret.
How much longer can the twins keep their secret? Who is the vilain? Will Radcliff find out the truth before he loses his mind? Get the book and find that out!! I only regret that this book has been in my "to read list" for over a year and I only decided to read it last week. I will certainly not loose time again and go right away to order the other books of Mrs Sands! Don't make the same mistake with me if you haven't read this book.

The book was excellent. It had humor throughout without disturbing the romantic passion. I wont give this one away.

I didn't care for this one as much. I usually read Sands for her sense of humor but this one was lacking. The plotline was okay and the situation was supposed to be funny, but I found it kind of boring and slow. I did a lot of skim reading although I did like the characters in the book quite a bit.

Sands has written much better stuff.

I liked this book. It was an interesting premise, one I have not seen before in any of the books I have read. It's definitely worth the read.

I enjoyed this book alot. However, I am abit confused as to the time placing of this book. It seems to come AFTER "Love is blind," but, was published before. Luckily both books stand well on their own.

The story of twin girls being sold in marriage by their evil, greedy uncle. They take turns posing as a boy and have lots of interesting adventures, including being taken to a brothel because their new friend and protector thinks "charles" is a bit to feminine. This is a quick read and a well written fast paced story.

I really enjoyed this book, but then I expected nothing less from Lynsay Sands. I love her books. She has a way of writing books that make me laugh because of the antics, while still making the undercurrent of love/lust something that makes you not want to put the book down. Her books have very little sex and a lot of desire and lust that leads up to it. Her books always have story-lines that are unique and hilarious, and Switch was nothing less then what I expected from her. I have high standards and Lynsay Sands meet them.

When identical twins Charlote and Elizabeth's parents die and end up living with their uncle they never expected their uncle would waste away their estate on living excessively with gambling, drinking, eating and women. While escaping their uncle by dressing as brother and sister, it never crossed their mind that they might find a champion in the first person to find them (Radcliffe).

My favorite parts of this book were when the girls took turns to dress up as a man and pretend to be Charlie. The antics they got into from Radcliffe taking Charlie to a Whore House, teaching him to shoot a gun, taking him to a Gaming Hell, a mans club and even see hi half naked. It's stuff like that and more that made this book hard to put down. I just can't get enough of Lynsay Sands books.
