Someone is murdering vampires in London during the day while they are sleeping. Professor James Asher returns home from work one day to find his wife in a strange coma and the oldest of the London vampires waiting for him. The vampire tells Asher that in order to save his wife he must find out who is destroying the vampires. This book keeps you on the edge of your seat.

Barbara Hambly is a gifted writer and I have enjoyed other books she has written, but this book was too dark for me. Could be the mood I was in, but just couldn't finish it. Passed it on. I also tire of her endless descriptions which often slow down the action.
