I purchased a jar of table cream at the local Latino market thinking it was sour cream. I even used it as sour cream still not realizing it's table cream. Tasted okay but sort of bland for sour cream. Duh! Well, I finally read it and realize it isn't sour cream, so I sit here wondering what on earth I can do with it. It tastes like heavy whipping cream and has the consistency of thick but pourable sour cream. Any idea? Can I substitute for milk in a waffle recipe? I'd think of it as cream, so maybe use it as a thickener in a sauce? Could you whip it with a little sugar and put it on some fruit? I don't know that I'd do a one-to-one substitution for milk, I'm not sure you'd get the right volume or consistancy. |
