This is so simple I am always embarrased to carry it to church suppers and other covered dish parties. But I rarely return home with any left.
Brown meat in skillet with Taco Season mix and hot sauce (like picante).
While it is browning, crush corn chips into little pieces and put 3/4s of them in one of those square oven proof disposable lidded pans (like Glad) like a pie shell on bottom.
Spread warm meat in pan. Spread jar of cheese sauce over meat. Put remainder of crushed chips over cheese. Cover with lid.
Take with you!.
Thoughts: If I make it early, I leave at room temperature and just before I leave I zap it a couple of minutes in the microwave. It there is a microwave where I am going I zap it there just before serving.
GARNISH: A couple of dollops of sour cream looks nice on top, and I have been known to add guacamole around edges but only at time of serving.
