I was searching for some books that my son will need for school next year. One of the books came up with this tag: I don't want this particular copy because it sounds like too much highlighting/written notes. Is there any way I can request/wishlist this book (but not *this* book)? Sharon

When you order, you'll get the first book in FIFO. The member who made that tag doesn't understand what the tags are for. If you don't already use conditions, you might write a special one when you order that book that says: [Title] is sometimes used as a textbook in classes. I do not want a textbook copy that has highlighting and writing in it. I'm looking for a clean copy, please. Thank you for your consideration! Write up the condition, turn the conditions on, order that book, turn the conditions off. |

Is there a way to know how many books are in the FIFO system? I'll make a condition for this particular book. Good suggestion to get around this. Thank you.

Add it to your reminder list. The RL will display the number of copies of that particular ISBN in the system. Oh, and you're welcome! :) Last Edited on: 5/30/08 3:07 PM ET - Total times edited: 3 |

And maybe drop a note to R&R (use the "contact us" link at the bottom of a page) with the title, ISBN, and link to the book's info page so they can fix the tag & notify whoever put it there of the rules. |

There are no rules on tags. They can be used however a person wants to use them. Trying to explain the condition of a certain copy is rather futile since it follows all copies, but still allowed. It has at least given you warning that a copy like that is out there and you can now make sure to set up an RC to avoid it. |
