I've been a big fan so far of the Making Tags Useful series of posts, so here's my own tip: Tag by Genre.

"But Danielle," you may ask, "Why tag by genre when there is already a way to sort books by category?"

Well, this is a way to get more specific. For instance, today I've been tagging books as "stream-of-consciousness," or "creative nonfiction,"  or "magical realism."

There's a list of genres at Wikipedia, along with the novels that represent them, & that's a great way to get started. Of course, I'd suggest only tagging a book if it's a work you're somewhat familiar with, on the off-chance that the information on the website is incorrect.

So, leave any other ideas you guys have in the response, & happy tagging, everyone!

Great idea, Danielle! I'll be sure to mention it in my next Tag Mission! :)
