This is a book mostly about Christian ministry, public speaking, and general life issues.

This book may help someone else better than me. It is very heavily Christian in tone and that turned me off of it. As soon as I read that the premise the author worked from was that "God has a plan for your entire life," I had to put the book down. I have read many Christian-leaning books before without encountering such heavyhandedness. The author gives almost all of the credit to God, and I can't see why giving God credit will help self-esteem etc. I also should point out this book is aimed at women specifically, which is another thing that isn't clear at all until you open the book. (I am a woman, but I would still have preferred to know this was a book aimed at just one gender.)

This book is about how to become a little church lady. Mine was published in 1984, so there have probably been some updates in the new one, but it is about the basics of being on a church committee and getting along with people. I thought it was fascinating that someone had written down what I thought was passed on mother to daughter. (In my mother's case with; "What were you thinking? You can't say things like that, even if they are true!")
