Last week I went to a library sale and bought a lot of books. I decided to put my bookshelf on vacation hold until I posted all of the books and have more money to send the wishlist books (18) that will show up when I unhold my bookshelf again. My question is, when I unhold my bookshelf, will the books that I posted while on hold show up on the recently posted books on the home page? I'm hoping they will as I have quite a few books that are the only copy in the system with 0 wishers and would like members to see the books on the home page. I was very happy to find so many wishlist books as I love to make someone happy in receiving a book they may have been waiting for a long time.

** UPDATE**  -- I just turned off my vacation hold. I put up two windows to see if my books that I posted during my vacation hold would show up in the recently posted books on the Home page. They DID NOT show up in the recently posted books. So, now everyone knows the answer to this question. Am happy though that 21 of my newly posted books came up on the wishlist hold tab. Now, will be interesting to see how many of those actually will be requested, lol.

I'm pretty sure they'll show up, Connie.  It's a great question though.  My suggestion:  open up two browser windows, and have your bookshelf (still on hold) on one, and the home page with the recently posted books on the other.  Take your bookshelf off hold, and then refresh the home page and see what happens.  Let us know.

I suggest doing this at a time when the site's a bit quiet so your books are buried under a pile of newly posted books.

Patty, I can't test it like that as all my 18 wishlist books will show up immediately and don't want that to happen yet. I just know that I have ordered a lot of books because I see the books go across on the home page, and would like others to see my books when they come up.

Can't you put your wish list books on individual hold and then check it out?

In order to put books on individual hold wouldn't I have to go off of vacation hold first? This would then place all my eighteen wishlist books in 48 hour holds or on a member's auto-request tab.

I think you can put them on individual hold while it's on vacation hold and they'll stay that way.  I've never tried it though, I don't post WL books until I am ready to have them offered.

Thanks everyone, I think I will just wait until I'm ready to take my shelf off of vacation hold to see if my books go on the recently posted screen on the home page. I will come back and let you all know what happens in case anyone wonders that, too.

I don't think they would show up in the books recently posted immediately. It would probably take awhile for the computer to update that.
