The recollections of twelve people who immigrated to the United States during the period of the Great Migration between 1900 and 1930.

The stories are slightly edited versions of their oral accounts and it's like listening to them tell their tales.

They tell of coming to America: what they left behind and why, how they made their way to the US, what they hoped to find here, what they DID find, and how they made new lives.

The people came from Ireland, Scotland, Poland, Italy, Greece, Japan, the Ukraine, Sweden and other countries and the stories are all fascinating. There are photos of each of the subjects.

This ISBN number is the hardback "Library Binding" version of the book.
