David Moody's Autumn series is really a great read.  I am on the last one, Aftermath, and frankly, they have all been can't-put-it-down books for me.  If you know me at all, you already know that zombies are not my usual fare.  I read a pretty eclectic selection of stuff, but heavy on the romance, contemporary novels, science fiction and Historical fiction.  I liked Charlaine Harris' Sookie series because they made me laugh, but except for World War Z (4stars), I haven't sought out any zombie stuff.

The Autumn series is not great literature, but it is a bunch of character driven fiction that is pretty fast paced and well written.  I like the author's writing style because nothing really predictable happens and the action is constant.  No romance, no sex, no science, no fluff.

I love the Autumn series. I just finished Disintegration and I'm looking forward to Aftermath and The Human Condition (I'm hoping that one isn't really integral to the othe books?).

I expected Disintegration to pick up where Purification left off and was initially disappointed, but that quickly changed to pleasantly surprised. I loved the addition of new characters and new settings. And, how Moody tied them together.

The last book Aftermath, was great and really tied it all up.  Then I did something I can only hang my head in shame about:  I ordered The Human Condition and paid $52.00 for it.  OMG!  I have never paid that much for a book in my book-hoarding life!  But, I just have to read it, you know.

Have you read any of the free stuff on Moody's site?

I've been holding off as I wanted to wait until I've read Aftermath.  It still on my WL, so I might have to go ahead and read the posted stories.
