Tear You Apart
Author: Megan Hart
I'm on a train. I don't know which stop I got on at; I only know the train is going fast and the world outside becomes a blur. I should get off, but I don't. Is it possible to absolutely love a book, despite an ending that left you...unsatisfied? I loved this book, but not so much the ending. In the end, I had to sort of "rewrite" the ending in my mind. Or maybe imagine a sequel. It wasn't my favorite book by Megan Hart but one I will keep in my collection. I loved the characters, could relate to the misery in the main female character as well as the frustration in the male character. I love Harts books--what they make me feel. How they make me think. Tear You Apart was no exception. If you're familiar with Hart's writing style then you know she's not all about 'happy ever afters'. Deep subjects, passionate love scenes and great personal insights, but not necessarily given to us wrapped in a pretty bow. Her books can be gritty, realistic, painfully honest, and Tear You Apart is no exception. If she'd given the main characters the HEA I'd wished for them, I would have given it 5 stars, but as it stands, I gave it only 4.5. But it's still a book I'd recommend.
