How can I prevent ?PostScript? and my printer from making gibberish of the wrapper? I know this is not PBS's fault. But it's a waste of ink and paper and money. Just now it took three tries to get a correct wrapper. It seems to happen when I reboot, or when I have had the printer turned off or disconnected. Sometimes, though, it happens just at random so far as I can tell. Can someone give ideas for preventing this? Or the reason it is happening? Maybe if I make sure the printer is turned on and connected for a few minutes before opening FireFox and logging in to PBS????? Would this give the plug-and-play time to get its act together? |

I tend to get this on mine if I don't have the printer plugged into the computer when I go to print the wrapper. The wrapper seems to print normal - but the address is all garbly goop. (You can imagine my surprise when I got to the post office to fill out the envelope. If I notice the printer is not plugged in and I printed a wrapper - I cancel the print job. Then plug the printer in and then reprint. Hope this helps. Suzanne

I used to get that every once in a while, too, until someone on this forum recommended using the "backup wrapper" option every time I printed. I have been doing that for almost a year now and have never had another screwy wrapper printed. Katrina |

Usually if the file has not finished loading completely in acrobat you will get the gibberish. I wait about a minute after it loads and have never had a problem again!
