I just got a book that has been scribbled on by (I'm guessing) a little kid with a pencil, but only on the blank page between the end of the book and the back cover.

Oh, and looking more closely I guess a couple of the pencil marks ended up on the edges of the last 3 pages, which do have text.

Should I mark it RWAP?  If I don't, and I repost it after reading, would you mark it RWAP if it came to you?

I'd say, yes, your book (and yours too Erin) are RWAP.

If it's pencil, can't you erase it? If so, I would just mark it received.

Otherwise, I would toy with the idea of RWAP.

If it's in pencil, can it be erased without doing damage to the book?

Amy beat me to it! Great minds think alike.  :)

Chris- I personally wouldn't mark it RWAP if I received that because it's pencil, and I imagine, doesn't really distract from the writing.  Also it can be erased.  But, I'm a little too generous at times.

Erin- Now that is just gross. :(  Hope you marked that RWAP.

Once, I received a book with pencil scribbles within one text page.  I was able to erase it so I didn't mark it RWAP.  However, I did PM the sender and told her about posting guidelines.  She was a newbie and appreciated that I let her know.  Yeah, sometimes I can be a little too generous also.  :-)

I would erase the stuff on the edge of the last 3 pages and let it go. The writing on the text pages is not on the text from the way it sounds and 3 pages? It sounds like the marks are insignificant and removeable. I think RWP in this case would be excessive. If you were talking water damage, I'd think different, but 3 pages with a small amount of pencil marks on the edges, not a problem IMHO.

Erin, I think I got books from the same person as you. Looked like someone spit their gum into the box of books before she closed it. It was hot out and it had melted all over the books.

With children around, and even cats, I can see where a sender might have that happen inadvertently.

The key is in the response to your PM.
