Brielle d'Avignon is desperate to know the fate of her beloved father who disappeared while fighting in the Holy Land during the Crusades and undertakes her own journey to the foreign land in search of answers. She is accompanied by a knight of the Templars, Reynaud de St. Remy who doesn't hide his lack of support for her quest. The two are drawn to each other but he is sworn to celibacy and has a secret which could endanger all around him. Brielle is faced with many challenges in the search for her father and each one brings her closer to Reynaud. As a result of her actions, Reynaud discovers a family secret that shocks him to the core and makes him question everything he thought he knew about himself. Only Brielle's kindness and love can help him overcome his inner turmoil.
