It's a shame that Vince Flynn went on to focus on espionage and counterterrorism, because Term Limits is THE best political thriller this native Washingtonian has ever read. He does such a bang-up job of exposing the base nature of most politicians and how our system of government fails to work that part of you can't help cheering the killers on as they "take back America...one politician at a time." To me, though, the scariest part is that his characterizations of the men and women we think are representing us in Washington are dead-on accurate. A spectacular, riveting read you won't want to pass up!

Not his greatest work, but Vince Flynn didn't hold back any punches in this lengthy but interesting novel. Perhaps some of our career politicians should interest themselves to this book.

In one bloody night, three of Washington's most powerful politicians are executed with surgical precision. Their assassins then deliver a shocking ultimatum to the American Government: set aside partisian politics and restore power to the people. No one, they warn is out of their reach.
Excellent story, I enjoyed every page. Maybe something like this would work with this insane bunch running things now. Lol

As a fan of Lee Child's Jack Reacher, I was told that if you like Reacher you will love Flynn's books. Thought if I was going to read them I should start at the beginning. WOW, I can't believe I've waited this long to start these Flynn books. Highly recommend and I usually read for an hour to an hour an a half every day but I am having trouble stopping!!!!!!

Excellent political thriller. This is the first Flynn that leads into the Mitch Rapp series. These books were recommended to me by my cousin after I told her that I really enjoyed the Reacher novels by Lee Child. Well I was not disappointed by this one and I look forward to reading the entire Rapp series. Term Limits is fast-paced and has a very realistic view of politics and political power. The book starts with the assassinations of 3 high-ranking and corrupt members of Congress with demands made by the assassins for the President and Congress to balance the budget, get rid of unneeded programs that waste billions of dollars, and implement a tough crime bill among other things. The novel contains some great characters both good and bad and leads to a very satisfying conclusion. Very high recommendation for this one!

Their assassins then deliver a shocking ultimatum to the American government: set aside partisan politics and restore power to the people. no one, they warn, is out of their reach--not even the president. A joint FBI-CIA task force reveals the killers are elite military commandos, but no one knows exactly who they are or when they will strike next. Only Michael O'Rourke, a former U.S. Marine and freshman congressman, holds a clue to the violence: a hunting incident in this own past with explosive implications for his country's future.....

This is Vince Flynn's first novel (prior to the Mitch Rapp series). It is just as exciting as any of his novels that follow. He draws the reader in immediately. I cannot put his books down until I finish and then I begin looking for the next one. Although this book was first published in 1997, it is so timely and relevant today.

This is a scary book. Copywrited in 1997, it reminds us we were born in blood as a country over conditions very much like those today. (A nearly 50/50 split politically; a ram-it-down-their-throat government, and the "out" half disenfranchised.) Well written and fast paced it ballyhoos assasination rather than the voting booth as a quick fix for apparent problems. What on earth was Flynn thinking when he wrote this?

Very exciting, action-packed political thriller by a great storyteller! The US is being controlled by power-hungry politicians. The president wants Congress to pass an unpopular budget. All that matters to his handlers is that the budget passes and the president is re-elected. A wrench is thrown into their plans when several key politicians are assassinated. The administration tries to spin the story, which causes another assassination and an additional warning by the killers. Enter a no-nonsense straight-shooter FBI agent to whom politics don't matter. With the quiet help of CIA, he has an idea who might be responsible. As they zero in, there is more violence. But this is vey different from the prior killings. Innocents are killed along with the politicians. Are they the same killers or copycats? What does a retired, ex-CIA black ops leader have to do with the crimes? A great read...I couldn't put it down!

A completely fascinating read with a totally unexpected ending. Vince Flynn weaves an engrossing story that leaves you wondering until the end just who the good guys and bad guys are. Robert Ludlum has nothing on Mr. Flynn when it comes to intrigue and suspense.

I received the book Term Limits as expected, but I haven't completed it yet. I went out of town and left it at my daughter's house. So I'll have to wait until we go back to continue reading it. After reading only a short portion of the book, I am very pleased with it; it is exactly what I expected.

Too many of the main characters in this thriller accept the idea of killing politicians that they don't agree with. I found this unbelievable and somewhat offensive, and stopped reading halfway through the book, which I almost never do.

Can't put the book down - how many times have I said that about Vince Flynn's books? Never mind that appointment you have to go to - keep on reading. The book and his characters catch you up and you have to read just one more chapter - and then another. Try to read his books in order if possible. But if not, they still intrigue and fascinate.
