has anyone read this one yet? I picked it up after reading the jacket that said it was " a thriller, a new direction for Terry Goodkind". While the book was ok ...by the 4th or 5th page the name Rahl shows up and it is goes on you realize it is not actually a mystery thriller. It is fantasy and deals with "here" and not "there" this time. To me it was the same plot as his Wizard's first Rule series. I was disappointed. |

Yeah, this had pretty much the exact same plot as the first book in that series. It was okay, pretty good lazy summer read, but not really worth my $16. Wish I would have waited and got it from PBS. |

After the leader of our scifi readers group gave it a scathing review [diatribes up the wazoo he said], my minimal interest went to nil. Wizard's First Rule was good. The rest of the series were turned into soapboxes, and this seems to be more of the same :-( |

fortunately, I got it from the public library, and didn't have to buy it. I found it violent and strange. I must admit I only read the first two of the Wizard's First Rule books. Subsequent ones seemed... violent and strange. I LIKE violent and strange, don't get me wrong. But not as the most memorable characteristics of a novel. |
