A story of the old West where a spy falls in love with the woman detective who has been hired to bring him to justice.
I liked the 1843-1846 view of The Republic of Texas and the polical struggles, as well as the adventure and love story of the main characters.
This book is done in true Texas form with corrupt judges and a secret spy for a mission. The herione is vulnerable in an unfoorgiving land.
