I have a book that was used as a textbook and posted as such, meaning that some writing and highlighting is OK but you must be told about it. The posted didn't tell me, but no biggie - just one page number circled and two paragraphs marked in brackets. (club rules. I know writing is not OK for nontextbooks...but since this is a textbook, it is postable. It just happens to be a textbook that is of interest to people not needing it for a class - sociology-type book) Anyway, the book has a wishlist of about 6 (not alot, but I was No. 1 on the wl for nearly a year, so it's not a commonly posted book) and I reposted it. The person who is No.1 on the wishlist doesn't want it if there is any writing at all, which I can understand - I may not have if I had been asked ahead of time. However, I'd really like to offer it to the next person on the list, but can't figure out how. I don't want to offer it up free b/c it's a rather large, heavy book.... Is there any way to do this or should I just donate it to Goodwill? |

Maybe you could ask the person if s/he'd be willing to add a condition temporarily so that you can say "no" to the conditions. You could also advertise it in the Bazaar... be sure to state it's postable as a textbook, and describe the writing and state you're looking for a credit for it. Offer to post it directly to the member's shelf. |

Thanks. I'll try that. |

Oh, Denise! Don't forget to post the ISBN of the book. That way if the person adds the book to the WL, it'll be the right version. :) |

Thanks. I posted a link to the book (isbn that I have). I'm in clean- out mode, so if no one wants it soon I'll probably drop it off somewhere. |
