Yes, folks, I have been found out!  I claim that some books are unpostable so that I can (dramatic music here) **GASP** get them for free.  That's right!  So send me your ripped, your torn, your stained, your written-in books because I simply LOVE those books and want more, yes more!  I love the smell of them, the feel of them, the sight of them and want them all.  I crave them, must have them!  (Add diabolical laugh here.)

For those who may not understand, I am only kidding.  But I have been accused a few times now.  Do I suffer from Unpostphilitis?  You know what books I am referring to, those books with the "what the heck is that stain", or the ones with writing and underlining that the sender does not notice before mailing it to me and the book only has 20 or less pages (but it is still readable; what do you want?  a new book?),  or the ones with the creeping stain and wavy lines you can see even when the book is closed.  And I never knew that ageing caused stains that mysteriously look like coffee/tea stains.

Sorry but I just needed to vent.  **SIGH**

((Hugs))  Such a drama queen, I'm sure those books are still 'readable'  just round up all the pages and put them back in numerical order...tada, practically new again!

I think some people respond aggressively when they know they don't have a leg to stand on hoping you'll be intimidated. The really good books do make for interesting posts though, lol.

Oh, my!  I forgot to mention I want, must have, just ache for your moldy, mildewy books also!!  Send them to me, send them now!  I just love that old smell that makes my eyes water, my nose run and then I end up sneezing bigtime, which in turn makes my cats run and hide.

I am making a large pillar from those books to help shore up my house and the loose pages make excellent wallpaper.  Gives me something to read as I walk around.  I can make up my own story by adding different pages here and there, quite interesting.

Thanks for understanding!  And thank you, Patty, for noticing I donate to the schools and to PBS as well as the military when that opens.

One of my favorites was the water damaged book with toothpaste all over the pages.  She refused to return a credit and went on that it was normal wear and tear of her house for the kids to read their books in the bathtub or while getting ready for bed.  Since it was a book from such a highly sought out series she felt another child would enjoy it as it was readable.  She then went on to insist if I wasn't going to keep it to bring it to a thrift store as they would love to sell it...LOL!

Ew, Stacey!!frown

If you were to forward a response like that to the Admin Team, I'm betting they'd fix things for you.  Normally they don't get involved in problem swaps, but if a member admits that a book has water damage and toothpaste, well, I don't think there's a lot of room for dispute.
