This girl had such a hard life. This is one of the best biographies I have ever read. It was very interesting but so sad. Even if you saw the HBO film of Gia's life with Angelina Jolie read this book. It tells much more of the story. Great Book!

This story is about Gia, a girl who was one day working at her father luncheonette and the next she was an aspiring supermodel.
I believe the fame and notoriety became somewhat to overwhelming, that she thought the use of drugs would help bring her on even keel.
The drugs led to other things and her career ended suddenly. She was diagnosed with H.I.V and then moved to full blown A.I.D.S

The first 200 pages were difficult to read through, as they were mostly a "who was who" of 70s photography and fashion. The story of Gia was very interesting, but if you aren't interested in the fashion culture of the time, I wouldn't recommend it.
